Thank you to His Holiness for his apostolic blessing to Sodalists in response to our 2016 SPIRITUAL BOUQUET!

The Goal of our life is to live with God Forever.
God, who loves us, gave us life.
Our own response of love allows God's life to flow into us without limit.
All the things in this world are gifts of God ....
(from St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises)

Happy Mother's Day Blessings!
God, Our Father, we offer up our prayers of Love, Joy and Thanksgiving for all Mothers, Grandmothers, Stepmothers, Aunts, Godmothers, Religious and all who provide the nurturing gifts and grace that is in each of us.
Please Bless each woman everyday and especially on this Mother's Day where we celebrate and honor them.
May Our Lord Jesus grant them the unexplainable Joy and Love in their hearts that no words can adequately describe.
May Our Lord Jesus grant them Peace in their hearts when there are times of endured Sorrows that only He can provide comfort.
May Our Blessed Mother Mary be with each of us as we follow her example as Mother and first Disciple.   As we journey knowing her Yes, experiencing the Joy, Sorrow and Love has led us to our daily Yes and Trust will lead us to Jesus.
John 15:12  This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.

Words shared by Sodalist Lynn Hill:  It’s exciting that so many of you have accepted the opportunity to be consecrated to Mary.  As Sodalists we recognize that the surest way to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is through His Immaculate Mother.  Father Michael Gaitley’s “33 Days to Morning Glory” is a wonderful book . . . .

Father Gaitley calls his updated and simple book “a Marian consecration for the Third Millennium.  Each week the book focuses on a different saint who lived and wrote about his/her devotion to Mary.  On your journey to Jesus through Mary, you’ll read and ponder messages from St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximillan Kolbe, Blessed Mother Teresa, and St. Pope John Paul II.  The last five days contain a review of the writings.

The  Month of MARY

We thank our May host parishes St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Holy Angels Catholic Church for the beautiful Crowning of Mary and the warm southern Maryland welcome!

This year's Lenten journey we were inspired by the words we received from Father Sass at the Retreat to go forth with courage--beyond the retreat--and ask ourselves, "what is the cross in my life?"  We are to make time the remainder of this Lenten season to contemplate this so that when we kiss the cross on Good Friday, we may have clarity of that cross.  "Yes, I am afraid of this cross," but with complete trust we will turn to our merciful and gracious Lord who will take us out of this fear of the cross on Easter Sunday!  Yes, I believe in the Resurrection!  Father's resounding closing words at the retreat:  GOD LOVES YOU!

At the March General Meeting at Nativity Catholic Church we were blessed with a warm, vibrant and spiritually rich talk by our guest speaker Carol Monaco of Our Lady of Bethesda and Editor/Writer of Journey to Our Lady in publication for over ten years.  We thank Carol with our prayerful gratitude for sharing a written copy of her presentation available below.  As we approach the 100th Anniversary of Fatima's first apparition, Carol opened our hearts, inviting us with her words, to like Mary. embrace "all that Our Lady holds dear--God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit," and reminding us that "our mission" is to pray and do good works for the rest of our lives."  Enjoy!

Also in March, it was a weekend of blessings for all who attended this year's Lenten Retreat at the Washington Retreat House, with Fr. Pawel Sass, Retreat Master.  It was a special time of friendship, prayer, Reconciliation, and Eucharistic celebration.
